Hi all, we need to start getting things organised so that I can begin to contact ferry companies and others to arrange discounts.
If your giving serious consideration to attending then please state it in this thread. No need for details, just state that your coming, if you have any passengers and what vehicle you have, and if you will be taking a trailer.
Giving an initial interest here is not committing you to coming, I understand life can get in the way, but this is a big trip that requires a lot of planning to be 100% successful, so it is best if you decide to attend you commit to it, even if you later find out you cannot come.
I would like to nail this initial interest by the end of February to allow a reasonable idea of the number of vehicles and people attending so that costs can be kept to a minimum and we can all save, making if more affordable as well.

I will be coming. Possibly with passenger have roof bars. Could take trailer if space becomes an issue.

I am coming with a poss passenger (still trying to pin her down!)
I am sure Howard and his wife are coming.
I recommend you don't take a trailer, its a bind, speed wise and when doing long hills, and in the desert its a pain if you get stuck.

Hi All. Count us in. Howard & Dagmar Bancroft. Thought I was not going to find a reason to make a trip this year so this is a welcom excuse.
I concur with Charlie about the trailer thing. You have no idea the contortions you have to go through if you get stuck with a trailer on the back. I speak from experiance!

still not sure if will be able to make trip, as already planned to go to the discovery birthday weekend at plymouth weekend of 13/14th, and other half cant get time off when its half term later in oct, but if was to come, if its quicker and cheaper to drive across france i'd perfer that option if was traveling as a group.

Could be another two vehicles (both 101,s ones a petrol  ) here but I cannot be certain yet. When's the cutoff point that you need to know by? |

Depends on how you plan to get there Steve, if you want to get the Ferry to Spain, the realistically you need to make the decision by the end of Fen, perhaps late March at the latest to get the best prices, if your going to join me and drive via France and Spain then it can be later, however I would suggest that you leave it no later than the end of April to ensure you can get everything planned in and any prep work on the vehicles completed and tested in time.

Hi guys espically jim. I hope youve got my message jim? I cant see im gonna be well enough for your trip. With the medication im on and the infusions i need to have seem to make my body more likely to be ill. Iv been ill with hepatitis for the last 6 weeks. And it been abit of an eye opener. I really want to do some traveling and expeditions but cant see it happening just yet. Sorry to let you guys down but il still look at your forum alot and iv still got plenty of work on my land rover. Il keep you updated and look forward to seeing your progress.
