Glad your getting it back together then. Im planning on getting some waterproof car carpet and covering alot of inside like roof, seatbox and doors. The free vw bora seats look like they will fit. And i want to hinge them on the front so i can get acess to the battery and tank. I also need to buy a new battery. Am planning on a fairly big one and not using two. Well for the moment anyway. Im also going to put some isolater switches in for the winch an battery so i can isolate them.

I removed the passenger wing this afternoon and found a hole in the footwell that wasn't supposed to be there!! broke out the welder and sorted it, fitted the new passenger wing loosely going to run some cables for aux battery that I am going to put into the boot (need an aux to run my sleep machine) from experience when I did the Gambia trip I needed a second battery on split charge.

on reflection I had another look at the passenger inner wing and made the decision to change it, bit rotten in places, changed the rear doors and removed the sill trims to paint the sills, had to weld a little hole in the passenger sill and rebuild the bottom of the drivers rear wheel arch, new parts for the wing orderd last week so should be here tuesday/ wednesday.
next job to do is the main battery lead. I will do the oil cooler pipes when I do an oil and filter change. ah the fun!!

Andy, 265's may look good, but they will seriously impact on fuel economy, I would suggest something like a 235 or at most a 245 width. Upping to 265's could add about 10% to your fuel consumption figures, and with the cost of fuel that is nothing to be sniffed at. i'll agree with that, just fitted bfg km2's on mine in 235 85 16, also down to point that its a standard landy size so not a prob getting a replacement tyre if had too.

well todays Job had to be done on the ramp, the dreaded Bushes.......... they wearnt too bad front C-spanners came off with very little problems and went back even easier (its nice when the last bush change was polybushes!!!) the rear's were interesting......I went to undo the front bolt on the drivers trailing arm....it was a bit tight, in fact it was so tight it broke the arm, that was a problem as the vehicle was blocking my mates ramp, bit of phoning around and found another trailing arm and a couple of bolts, the second arm had its bolt heated before I started and came off with no problem, next job will be the rear axle, it is looking a tad thin in places so replacement is a good idea!!
